We spend time looking at perceptions about risk and what you can expect from the Fire Service – and when extinguishers can be used. We look at the classifications of fire after a taster of fire science and cover case studies about how humans behave in emergency situations. This leads on to the role of the fire warden, including hazard spotting and risk reduction, action to take in the event of a fire, how to manage false alarms, running fire drills, managing an incident and using escape devices.
