The Clitheroe fire warden training course takes approximately three hours – but we are flexible to your requirements – ask us for your options.

After an introduction, we look at the impact of fire and employers’ legal responsibilities. We spend some time looking at perceptions about risk and when to call the Fire Service and to use an extinguisher. We cover which extinguisher type to use in which fire type and – if your premises have a suitable space – we give them the opportunity to try each type of fire extinguisher in a hands-on session.

We also cover:

• Classifications of fire
• The science behind fire
• How humans behave in fire emergency situations.
• The proactive and reactive roles of fire wardens
• Hazard spotting and risk reduction
• Action in the event of a fire
• How to manage false alarms
• fire drills
• managing an incident
• using escape devices.
